Patented Dyson cyclone technology.

It took 5 years and 5,127 prototypes for James Dyson to invent the first vacuum cleaner with no loss of suction. Dyson engineers have been refining the technology ever since. Relentlessly testing and perfecting it – making it work even better.

Dyson cyclones capture more dirt than any other cyclone technology. The latest Dyson Ball™ vacuums have Radial Root Cyclone™ technology, with airflows that have been remodelled to maximise suction power.

Ball™ technology.

Conventional vacuums with fixed wheels can be awkward to steer. Dyson Ballâ„¢ vacuums turn on the spot. They move easily around furniture and other obstacles. Many of the key components, including the motor, are located inside the ball itself. This gives a low centre of gravity and stability.

Dyson digital motor.

Dyson engineers have spent 10 years developing a new type of highly efficient digital motor.
It powers Dyson handhelds and Dyson Digital Slim™ cordless vacuum cleaners.
