Dyson machines work best with genuine Dyson filters

Our high-performance filters are developed by the same engineers who make our machines. If you don’t use a genuine Dyson filter, you may inhibit your purifier’s performance, damage your machine permanently and invalidate your guarantee.

Replacing your filter is easy

To change your filter and reset the filter indicator, watch our video below, or follow the instructions in your user manual. Always unplug your machine before changing filters. We recommend replacing your HEPA+K-Carbon filter every year4, or sooner if necessary, to maintain optimum performance.

Advanced Dyson-engineered filtration

  • Particles with letters n and o close-up.

    K-Carbon filter

Captures odours, VOCs, gases2, and more NO21 – a common and potentially harmful household pollutant produced by gas appliances, open flames and wood-burning stoves.

  • Extreme close up of filter media trapping microscopic pollutants.

    HEPA H13-grade filtration

HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) is an air filter efficiency standard. HEPA H13 means the filter can remove 99.95% of particles as small as 0.1 microns.3

  • Dyson Purifier fully-sealed with brown smoke filling chamber.

    Whole-machine fully sealed filtration

Poorly sealed purifiers can leak particles back into the air. But with Dyson purifiers, the whole machine is fully sealed to HEPA H13 grade. So what goes inside, stays inside.5

Frequently asked questions

Our K-Carbon filter is impregnated with potassium carbonate (K₂CO₃) and can adsorb more nitrogen dioxide1 – a common and potentially harmful household pollutant produced by gas appliances, open flames, and wood burning stoves.

We recommend replacing the HEPA+K-Carbon filter every 12 months (based on 12 hours a day of use)4 – this may vary depending on usage and pollution levels. You’ll be notified via the MyDyson™ app6 or LCD screen when it’s time to replace the filter.

Genuine Dyson parts ensure that your machine continues to work as intended. Only by purchasing parts engineered by Dyson can you guarantee that they have been subject to our rigorous levels of testing to provide high-performance filtration associated with Dyson air quality machines.

Using genuine Dyson filters for your purifier helps ensure optimum air purification performance, whilst using some other 3rd party filters reduces purification efficiency as they let more particles or pollutants through.

1 Tested to Dyson test method TM-003387. In a 3 cubic meter test chamber, at fan speed 10, at third-party test laboratory (Fraunhofer WKI), comparison against regular activated carbon performance.
2 Gas capture rates vary.
3 Tested for filtration efficiency at 0.1 microns (ISO29463).
4 Based on 12 hours use per day. Filter life varies according to pollution levels.
5 Particle challenge by DEHS oil specified in ISO29463 within a chamber specified in ASTM F3150. Tested in Max Mode at SGS IBR US, for whole machine efficiency above 99.95%.
6 App functionality may vary per market. Requires device to run app, Wi-Fi or mobile data, Bluetooth 4.0 support, and iOS version 15 or Android version 8 (or above). Standard data and messaging rates may apply.
