Frequently asked questions

Two tier Radial™ cyclones: 15 small cyclones each generate powerful g-force to fling dust into the bin. The post-motor filter is optimised to provide filtration with minimal pressure consumption, for more suction. This captures microscopic dirt particles as small as 0.3 microns – almost 100 times smaller than the width of a human hair.

Delivers up to 60 minutes of fade-free suction.

Hygienic Dirt Ejector: The bin emptying mechanism hygienically drives out dust and debris in one action. So, there is no need to touch the dirt. The shroud inside the bin is constructed from chemically etched stainless steel, which is a smooth surface punctuated by approximately 15,000 holes that are 0.4mm in diameter, so the wiping mechanism can work effectively.

The Dyson Cyclone has 30% more suction power than the Dyson V8, while the new battery has 50% more run time. The battery is now swappable, allowing even longer cleaning sessions, with greater convenience.

The fully-sealed filtration system traps 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including allergens such as pollen and dust mites, so only cleaner air is expelled back into the home.

The Dyson Cyclone now has single button operation, making the machine triggerless for greater ease and convenience, with three power modes for every cleaning need – Eco, Medium and MAX.

The Dyson Cyclone weighs 2.3kg (with Fluffy™ cleaner head).

The Dyson Cyclone has two tiers of 15 radial cyclones that generate high centrifugal force to capture microscopic dust and allergens with no loss of suction.

There is a conical filter located at the head of the machine, which can be easily removed. Both filters should be washed under cold water at least once a month and left to dry for 24 hours before being placed back into the machine.

150AW.

Fluffy™ cleaner head: Engineered with soft woven nylon for hard floors, sucking up fine dust and large debris simultaneously.

Mini motorised tool: A motorised brush bar, concentrated in a smaller head to remove stubborn dirt from mattresses, upholstery and stairs.

Crevice tool: Designed for precise cleaning around tricky edges and into hard-to-reach narrow spaces.

The Dyson Cyclone is compatible with existing V8 accessories including the Soft roller brush bar, the Combination tool, Soft roller cleaner head, Stubborn dirt brush, Mini soft dusting brush, Up-top adaptor, Detail cleaning kit, Pet grooming kit and more.

The Dyson Cyclone is suitable for hard floors, upholstery, and even car interiors using the appropriate attachments.

Yes, Dyson Cyclone quickly transforms into a handheld vacuum for spot cleaning, upholstery, stairs, or car interiors.

The Dyson Cyclone has a button switch located at the top of the vacuum for changing through the three different modes: Eco, Medium, and MAX.

The Dyson Cyclone comes with a wall-hanging docking station. This gives you the option to store the machine for charging and holds additional attachments. It’s charged and ready to go whenever you need it.

4 50% more runtime in Eco mode compared to the original V8 allows 50% more dirt collected. Actual performance may vary based on debris and usage.
5 Suction tested to IEC 62885-4:2023, Sec. 5.11 and 5.12, in Boost mode at the inlet in SGS Laboratory USA in 2025.
5 Tested to ASTM1977 Boost mode in SGS Laboratory USA in 2025. Filtration efficiency is calculated by comparing the number of standard dust particles absorbed by the vacuum cleaner to the number of standard dust particles discharged. Capture rate may vary depending on actual usage environment and cleaning mode.
