21 June 2022

The James Dyson Award is on the lookout for Singapore’s top design engineers and inventors.

The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages, and inspires the next generation of design engineers. It's open to current and recent design engineering students, and is run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson’s charitable trust, as part of its mission to get young people excited about design engineering.

National winners will now receive S$9,000, alongside high-profile recognition for their idea. Global winners could win prize monies up to S$54,000. To date, the competition has awarded more than 285 inventions with prize money.

If you have a great idea or invention that solves a problem – Submit it now to the James Dyson Award.

The deadline to apply: midnight PST on 6 July 2022.

Entrants should explain what their invention is, how it works, and their development process. The best entries solve a real problem, are clearly explained, show iterative development, provide evidence of prototyping and have supporting imagery and a video.

All judges will take into consideration the restrictions to prototyping and product development as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Details on eligibility and further FAQs can be found on the James Dyson Award website.
